Leader hails Iraqis’ fight against terrorists Iran’s Ayatollah Khamenei received Iraqi PM on Wednesday evening as part of his one day visit to Iran. Iraqi PM Heidar al-Ebadi who arrived in Tehran ahead of a high-ranking delegation earlier on Wednesday morning was received by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, where the Leader highlighted political and national unity in Iraq as a necessity. “Great capacity of popular volunteer groups in Iraq will be of great impact and efficiency in different areas in the country,” asserted Ayatollah Khamenei referring to bravery and endeavor of Iraqi youths. “An important characteristic of Iraqi nation which was revealed more than ever in their fight against terrorism was bravery, strong will and power of volunteer groups and tribes in confrontation with enemies.” He hailed resistance of Iraqi government and nation against terrorist groups for providing the region with security; “Iraqis experience in facing British colonialism in the past and American expansionism in current time, indicates that the ill-wills do not like public forces on the scene and that is why this huge popular capital must be protected.” Ayatollah Khamenei warned against western attempts to damage national and political unity in the country and emphasized on the necessity of vigilance to prevent any discords damage unity among Shias, Sunnis and Kurds. The Leader dubbed Iraq’s security and progress just like those of Iran’s and highlighted that the United States sought to exploit wealth of Iraq on one hand, and to impose their own will on the other hand; “this must be prevented,” Ayatollah Khamenei asserted and reiterated Iran’s all-out support for Iraqi nation and government. Iraqi PM Heidar al-Ebadi for his part expressed pleasure over his second visit to Tehran in less than a year and deemed Iran’s complete support and bilateral ties between the two countries as sign of deep ties of the two neighboring nations. He stressed that Iraqis focused on preventing any disunity among sects and tribes and asserted that Takfiri terrorist groups in Syria and Iraq consider no difference between the Shia and Sunni; “resistance of Iraq’ nation and government has hampered ISIL’s progress; a serious confrontation against terrorists, however, demands unity among countries of the region. Al-Ebadi also praised Tehran for its supports and aids in Iraq’s fight against terrorism.
